Why brief-led

Useful because it's specialized.

Sakaad isn't a live catalog. You bring the brief; we bring curated options, an honest read on what's feasible, and one point of contact — so you only commit when the order path is real.

(03)From brief to order

A simple path from brief to order.

Every project answers the same questions: who is it for, what is the quantity, what is the budget, and what has to be true for it to work.

1

Share the brief

Gift program, retail assortment, or custom request — with audience, quantity, budget, and timeline.

2

Shape the shortlist

We shape directions and shortlist makers matched to your audience, price point, and deadline.

3

Confirm feasibility

An honest read on samples, quantities, timelines, packaging, and shipping before anything is promised.

4

Move to order

Qualified projects move into samples, then a deposit or invoice via a fulfillment partner.

Made to your briefYou don't browse a catalog. You describe the audience, quantity, and timeline; we source it from our maker network.
Provenance, not just productHandmade African goods with provenance-aware, gift-ready direction for donors, employees, and clients, anchored by Kenya-rooted craft.
Straight answersWe won't quote a price, claim stock, or promise a date we can't keep. Every brief gets an honest feasibility read first.
(04)FAQ

Before you inquire.

Straight answers that keep the brief honest before anything is promised.

Do you hold inventory or a catalog?

No. We source to your brief — made to order with our artisan partners, or curated from their work — rather than shipping from stock. That's the point: you get what fits the project, not what happens to be on a shelf.

Who replies, and how does it work?

The inquiry desk is being built to read briefs and keep replies honest — it will never quote a price, claim something is in stock, or promise a delivery date that hasn't been verified. Those details come once your project is scoped.

Why African and Kenyan goods?

Africa has deep, recognized handmade-craft traditions — Kenya especially, known for sisal basketry, beadwork, and textiles. We source broadly across African makers, anchored by those Kenya-rooted craft strengths.

What size projects are a fit?

Best fit is a buyer with a defined audience, budget range, timeline, and enough quantity to make sourcing practical. Very small one-off requests may not be feasible.

Are you claiming fair-trade certification?

No. We work in the spirit of fair, transparent artisan sourcing, but we don't claim current certification or membership unless it's separately verified.
